Libraries Leadership Team

Vision Statement

The Libraries Leadership Team (LLT) is composed of library department heads, the Senior Leadership Team, and adjunct representatives from staff and in-unit faculty. The vision of LLT is to demonstrate collaborative decision-making and input on library policies, programs, and services, utilizing agreed-upon guiding principles and strategies articulated in the Libraries’ Strategic Plan. LLT also provides opportunities and support for leadership development across the libraries, among all levels of faculty and staff. The members’ collective knowledge, coupled with the in-depth expertise and varied perspectives gained from the departments and divisions they oversee, enables them to see the big picture without losing sight of real-world issues and to make recommendations and decisions that will maximize the user experience and improve the relevance and effectiveness of the services that the Libraries provide. They are guided by and expected to model the free flow of information and spirit of collaboration across the Libraries to provide a supportive environment for all levels of library faculty and staff, fostering maximum inclusion and diversity.

Composition:

  • All current department or unit heads in the libraries.
  • Library administration: Senior Leadership Team 
  • Adjunct Members: The Senior Medical Librarian, one representative from the library faculty, and one or two representatives from Library Staff. Adjunct members serve one-year terms with the possibility of extension, at the discretion of the permanent members of the Libraries Leadership Team. A call for volunteers will go out library wide for LLT consideration one month prior to the expiration of the term.

Meetings:

The Libraries Leadership Team (LLT) meets the second Wednesday of every month from 10am-12pm, unless the meeting is canceled or rescheduled by group consensus. Ongoing communication and decisions taken between meetings are facilitated through the use of a mailing list open to permanent LLT members.
