Maris Hayashi is Assistant Dean for Collection Strategies and Discovery Services at Florida Atlantic University. She was previously Head of Collection Management as well as Collection Development Librarian. Maris joined Florida Atlantic as a Reference Librarian in 2002. Currently, her portfolio includes Collection Management and Interlibrary Loan. A native of Southern California, Maris has had the opportunity to live in beautiful parts of the US, including Redondo Beach, California; Honolulu, Hawaii; Tucson, Arizona; and Iowa City, Iowa. Her pre-professional library experience includes serving as a graduate assistant at the former Information Arcade (University of Iowa Libraries), as the Evening Supervisor/Interlibrary Loan Coordinator at the Busse Library (Mount Mercy University), and as a Library Page for the L.A. County Public Library system.
