Dean's Message

As of 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, all FAU libraries (in Boca Raton, Jupiter, and HBOI) will be closing to the public, but we will continue to be a resource for the FAU community.

 

Library Closure

In coordination with the University Administration, the FAU library facilities in Boca Raton, Jupiter and HBOI will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18.

Greetings, all!  March 2-6 marks international Open Education Week, and FAU Libraries welcomes you to engage with us as we continue to strive for openness in knowledge creation and sharing.  

 

Spirit of America

Now open is the FAU Libraries’ spring exhibit called “Pamphleteers of the American Revolution.” This unique exhibit uses items from the Marvin and Sybil Weiner Spirit of America Collection to highlight the writings of brave men and women in the original thirteen colonies who spoke out against the tyrannical King George III of Great Britain. Join our Instruction and Engagement team for a workshop this semester! We are proud to announce our spring semester workshop schedule, which features seven workshops designed to help students be successful, no matter their year or major.

 

Leah Plocharczyk, interim director of Florida Atlantic University’s John D. MacArthur Library, is a winner of this year’s I Love My Librarian Award. Recognized for her leadership in her community and commitment to transforming lives, she is one of only 10 librarians in the country to receive this national honor. 

 

Vintage Christmas and Holiday Music

Ever wonder how Christmas is celebrated in Israel? Discover through Vistas of Israel recordings how both Chanukah and Christmas are celebrated in Israel in the late 50s and 60s, along with Christmas hymns such as Oh, Come All Ye Faithful and Silent Night, Holy Night and silly songs like I want a hippopotamus for Christmas  and All I want for Christmas is my Two Front Teeth.
