Computers, Printing, Copying, and Scanning

Computers.  The first floor east and west wings, and the second floor west wing (Room 215), have desktop computers. See the Computer Availability page for locations of currently available computers. Computers located on the first floor east only are available to the public.

The library computers are equipped with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and internet access. See the Software Availability page for other available software programs and their locations. Saving your information to a USB/Flash drive or to cloud storage is highly recommended as no patron information is retained on the library computers after logging out or computer shutdown.

Computer Availability for Guests.  Guests may use desktop computers on the first floor, east wing of the library (to the right as you enter the building). Please see our Service Desk for Guest Log-In information, as well as information to create a guest OpenAthens account (which is used to access databases and other licensed online resources). The OpenAthens account will only work within the library building.

Guests may also use their own laptop or mobile device by logging into the FAUGUEST wireless network. Upon attempting to connect to this network, you will be prompted to request guest login credentials, which will be sent to you by text message or email. These credentials are good for 72 hours.

Printing and Copying.  The first floor east and west wings, and the fifth floor study area, each have a color/black and white (BW) laser jet printer. Printers/copiers, which print in black and white ONLY, are available on all floors of the library. All printers operate on a pay-per-use basis. See our FAU Printing Process instructions or the FAU Printing Services website for more printing information, including guest accounts and how to add funds to your printing account.

For quick demonstrations on printing and adding money to print accounts, see our printing, copying, and scanning recordings.

To fax documents and for advanced printing tasks (such as posters, lamination, or high-volume copies), please visit Copy Services.  It is located on the southwest end of the Breezeway, near the FAU Bookstore.

Scanners.  Scanners are available for free public and student use in the first floor east and west computing areas, and the second floor west computer lab. Save your scans on a USB/Flash drive or send to cloud storage or e-mail. This scanning recording will show you how to get started.

Need to print from a laptop?  You may print from a laptop or web-enabled mobile device using your FAU Net ID or guest account through the FAU Printing Services website.
