University Libraries Team Makes a Big Impact: Volunteer Efforts and Community Support

In a powerful display of commitment to community service, twelve dedicated librarians and staff members from University Libraries recently volunteered at Boca Helping Hands. Their collective efforts made a remarkable impact as they swiftly organized and packed multiple palettes of food supplies, assembling over a hundred family bags for distribution within the community.

The team's passion and dedication were evident as they completed the three-hour volunteer drive in under two hours, showcasing their commitment and efficiency. Richard, an esteemed lead volunteer with eight years of service, expressed his awe, highlighting that he had never witnessed such diligent and effective teamwork before.

The impact of the FAU Libraries team's involvement did not go unnoticed. Boca Helping Hands extended a warm invitation for their return, acknowledging the significant impression left by their efforts in supporting the community.

Moreover, the library faculty and staff, led by Dean Linda Marie Golian-Lui, actively participated in the 17th Annual "Keep Memories Alive" walk-in-the-mall fundraiser on November 5. Their involvement was notable enough to catch the attention of Boca Observer, which covered the story, amplifying the impact of their community support.
