Back by popular demand, we are showcasing rare books from the Marvin & Sybil Weiner Collection that are featured in the Printing and the Mind of Man catalog. In 1963, the International Printing Machinery and Allied Trades Exhibition (IPEX) held an exhibition in London that showcased the technical aspects of printing and the British Museum focused on the artwork with books. The catalog is a phenomenal document that describes all the works that have influenced the way we think. Since that hallmark exhibition, the PMM catalog is considered an essential framework for many private collectors and libraries. We are celebrating the Printing and the Mind of Man catalog and showcasing the most influential texts that have greatly contributed to Western Civilization over the past 500 years since the invention of the printing press.
The exhibit will be open on the 5th floor of the Wimberly Library on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10 am-2 pm.
