Meet Michelle Keba Knecht, the Senior Medical Librarian at FAU's Schmidt College of Medicine. In her role, Michelle takes on the vital responsibility of managing the College of Medicine's library resources and plays a pivotal part in leading the evidence-based medicine curriculum as the co-director of the Life-Long Learning & Discovery thread. She also conducts research on the affective dimensions of information literacy.
In addition to providing orientations and lecturing on evidence-based medicine topics in the College of Medicine, Michelle offers one-on-one research consultations to students, faculty, and staff within the College of Medicine, supporting them in their quest for knowledge. Michelle also provides a systematic and scoping review service for College of Medicine members working on reviews. I fell in love with the field of education when I was a teacher in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas through the Teach for America program. When I learned about academic librarianship I knew it was the right fit for me because I love researching and connecting people to information. - Michelle Knecht
