The FAU Libraries have added more than 40,000 e-resources thanks to generous funding from the FAU Student Government Association. Now students, faculty, and staff have access to thousands of additional journals, e-books, and research reports after purchasing access to O’Reilly for Higher Education and the JSTOR Sustainability Collection.
Student Government bought a one-year subscription to O’Reilly for Higher Education, which has a strong focus on business and STEM research materials. This diverse collection includes more than 40,000 e-books, videos, case studies, interactive tutorials, and audiobooks. The O’Reilly collection also offers software and device manuals, plus soft skills training for personal and professional development.
The JSTOR Sustainability Collection was a one-time purchase by Student Government with no reoccurring fees. As a result, the Libraries own this content in perpetuity. The JSTOR Sustainability Collection provides more than 5,400 journals, e-books, and research reports on the impacts of environmental stresses. The database focuses specifically on environmental science, ecology, and botany, and broader concepts of resilience and sustainability. In this collection, one can find content from government agencies, non-governmental organizations, corporations, policy institutions, and academic centers, as well as policy briefs, technical papers, white papers, and discussion papers, which are often difficult to locate.
These new acquisitions are a result of the continued partnership and dedication to student success by the FAU Libraries and FAU Student Government. Both of these collections will be a true asset to the FAU community.
