Library Charges

Charges

  • All library users are subject to charges for materials and equipment that are not returned.
  • Library users are charged for materials and equipment that are damaged while checked out to them. Charges for damaged items vary by item and extent of damage.  Damaged items remain the state's property to be disposed of in the same way as other items withdrawn from the collection.
  • Partial hours count as a full hour overdue.
  • Library circulation privileges may be blocked if materials are more than 30 days overdue. Library materials that are more than 30 days overdue will be declared lost.  Overdue library equipment and group study rooms may result in the account being blocked and charged lost fees when the item is 24 hours overdue.
  • Bills are sent from the Cashier's Office and must be paid to that office.  Click here for payment options.
  • For most materials, the borrower will be charged a replacement charge of $66.81 per item and a $6.00 handling fee per item. The replacement charge and the handling fee will be credited for materials that were declared lost and are subsequently returned.

You may check your account through MyFAU to view library charges.
