On July 13, 2026,  Florida Atlantic University Libraries upgraded its core library platform to Primo NDE (Next Discovery Experience). The Primo Next Discovery Experience (NDE) is a modernized library interface by Ex Libris. This update introduces a more accessible, user-friendly design that makes it easier to discover and access library resources, while also adding new AI-features such as AI Assisted Search and Research Assistant.
Although the interface has been refreshed, the catalog will continue to function much as it did before, ensuring a familiar experience for users.

The new enhancements include but not limited to:

• AI Assisted Search (Natural Language Search)
  Users can enter everyday phrasing. The system builds a structured Boolean query with the appropriate filters. 
• Research Assistant
  Research Assistant helps users find an easy starting point for their research by leveraging the power of AI. 
• Unified Library Activity
  A consolidated page for users to track loans, requests, fines, saved records, and search history.
• Modern Analytics
  A new interface powered by MixPanel.
