Software Use Policy

1. Grant of License
You are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to download and use the software for your individual, non-commercial use only. This license is limited to a single user on a single device.

2. Restrictions on Use
You may not, under any circumstances:

  • Share, distribute, copy, sublicense, or make the software available to others in any form.

  • Install or use the software on more than one device concurrently.

  • Modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software, except as expressly permitted by applicable law.

3. No Redistribution
You agree not to reproduce or redistribute the software, in whole or in part, through any means including but not limited to email, file-sharing services, or physical media. This includes prohibiting access to or copying of the software by other individuals, whether within or outside your organization.

4. User Responsibility
You are solely responsible for the security of the software once downloaded. You agree to take reasonable precautions to prevent unauthorized access, duplication, or sharing of the software.

5. Compliance with Institutional and Legal Standards
By using this software, you agree to abide by all applicable university computing policies, including standards related to appropriate use of technology resources. As outlined in institutional IT policies (e.g., FAU TSG IT Policies), all users must ensure that:

  • Software is used in an ethical, lawful, and academically honest manner.

  • Technology resources are not used to violate software licensing agreements.

  • Confidentiality, integrity, and security of the software and related data are maintained.

6. Termination
This license is effective until terminated. Your rights under this license will terminate automatically without notice from the licensor if you fail to comply with any term(s) of this agreement. Upon termination, you must destroy all copies of the software.
