All robotics enthusiasts are welcome to join the weekly Robotics Meetups at the Rubin & Cindy Gruber Sandbox.
Hosted in collaboration with Machine Perception and Cognitive Robotics Lab, the meetups present a unique opportunity for the students to share their knowledge, learn to use AI with Robots and Embedded Systems, and join the discourse on robotics and their future.
The Sandbox utilizes OpenLab so the students can use the robotics learning resources or participate in projects and discussion groups. The meetups include Robot Operating System (ROS 1 & 2) discussion groups for beginners and advanced ROS developers.
The Rubin and Cindy Gruber Sandbox is one of the nation’s first multi-disciplinary, state-of-the-art artificial intelligence labs located in a University Library. This collaborative, experimental space for students of all levels and from all disciplines provides the opportunity to directly engage with the fast-advancing field of artificial intelligence. Students, faculty, and community members come together at the Sandbox to create innovative solutions to real-world problems.
The Sandbox is open to graduate and undergraduate students, FAU faculty and staff, and the wider community. Students here work on many exciting projects, including artificial intelligence safety, machine learning in physiology, automatic seizure detention, and virtual reality environments.
The Robotics Meetup is held every Monday, from 4 to 6.30 p.m. at the Rubin & Cindy Gruber Sandbox, located on the first floor of the east wing of the SE Wimberly Library.
