The following library committees are always looking for volunteers. Please request and receive permission from your supervisor before contacting the individuals below.
Exhibitions Committee
This committee supports exhibits that highlight the University Libraries’ rich and varied collections and also encourages exhibits that look beyond the walls of the Libraries to incorporate nationally or locally recognized themes and events, University programs, or emerging research. Preparation of exhibits should involve staff from all areas of the Libraries, as well as key university groups.

Staff & Organizational Development Committee (SODC)
Reporting to the Dean of University Libraries, the Staff & Organizational Development Committee (SODC) performs a unique and critical role within the FAU Libraries.
The SODC fosters an esprit de corps through awards celebrations and other Libraries-wide social occasions such as but not limited to the new employee orientation/welcoming program, and celebrations of holidays, promotions, retirements, and other receptions designed to encourage and celebrate all who work in the FAU Libraries. The SODC also supports the Dean’s initiatives to foster a happy and healthy work environment.
The SODC serves as the planning and implementation body that organizes events to promote positive morale and foster a sense of collegiality in the FAU Libraries. The Committee takes direction from and consults with the Dean prior to planning events. The Dean will work closely with SODC to provide a budget for library events, as needed.
Committee members are comprised of six to ten volunteer faculty and staff from all areas of the libraries, including the branch campus libraries. There are no set term limits, except for the SAS chair, who serves a two-year term. While there are no set terms, members are encouraged to consider opportunities for other staff to participate and to step down or aside in order to provide other interested staff the chance to serve.

Space Allocation Advisory Committee to the Dean
The broad purpose of the FAU Libraries Space Allocation Committee is to review the space needs of the libraries, study options, and recommend courses of action to be taken. The committee will coordinate Library faculty research space/Libraries' collaborative research space with other colleges as well as room locations for new Libraries’ faculty and staff hires. The committee will examine short and long-term needs relating to storage of and access to library collections, use of public space and partnerships with other campus groups and external agencies, and renovation of existing staff and public spaces.
