Alethea Perez is the Manager, Operations and Website Coordinator of the Recorded Sound Archives (RSA) in Special Collections at Florida Atlantic University Libraries. In this role, she oversees the preservation, digitization, and public access of historic sound recordings, supporting research, instruction, and community engagement across a wide range of musical and cultural traditions. 

With a background in art history and creative practice, Alethea brings a multidisciplinary approach to archival work, blending technology, storytelling, and design to make audio collections more accessible and engaging. She manages RSA operations and the archive’s web presence, and regularly develops digital content, exhibits, and educational media highlighting rare and fragile recordings. 

Her professional interests include the preservation of recorded sound, creative applications of archival audio for outreach, and the intersection of technology, creativity, and cultural memory. In addition to her archival work, she is a published illustrator and poet, contributing research-driven creative scholarship that complements her work in Special Collections.
