Norman Nathan is Professor Emeritus of English at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida. He received his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts, and a Ph.D. in English all from New York University. In 1968, Dr. Nathan began his career at Florida Atlantic University. In his early career, Dr. Nathan wrote several textbooks dealing with English grammar and style, and literary interpretation of the short story and poetry while continuing to write poetry and short stories. Dr. Nathan published several books of poetry in addition to publishing over 450 poems in various publications. He has published over 22 short stories. In addition to the unpublished poems and short stories in the collection, it also contains his unpublished memoirs and novels. Dr. Nathan published over 62 scholarly articles on Shakespeare, Chaucer, Blake, The Bible, Keats, Shelly, and T. S. Elliot. Dr. Nathan passed away June 11, 2013. In 2018, additional material donated by his daughter. This material was described and added to the existing collection by Leslie Siegel. In addition to poems and stories, the additional material included essays he wrote as an undergraduate student. The collection contains his unpublished memoirs, novels, short stories, poems, and essays.
