First Aid Forward is a test prep resource for the USMLE provided to you by the College of Medicine. This resource is extremely helpful for students studying for Step 1 & 2 and faculty who would like to include First Aid content in their lectures.

Please follow the instructions below to register for First Aid Forward Step 1 and Step 2. After 180 days, your materials will "expire" and you must re-verify your institutional access.

 

New to First Aid Forward?

Special Instructions for Boards & Beyond Users:

  1. Before registering for First Aid Forward, please sign into your Boards & Beyond account and change your email address to your @health.fau.edu address.
  2. Now, follow the instructions below to create your First Aid Forward account with the same email address. Your Boards & Beyond and First Aid Forward will be connected. Sign into one product and move smoothly between the linked content of both.

Register for First Aid Forward - Step 1

  1. If you already registered for Step 2, first sign out of First Aid Forward completely.
  2. Go to this exact link: https://firstaid.mheducation.com/step-one
  3. Enter your  @health.fau.edu email. You must use this email address as it connects you to FAU’s subscription.
  4. Enter your information--the site will skip this step if you already have a McGraw Hill Account with the same email address. A McGraw Hill Account includes Boards & Beyond, AccessMedicine, and more.
  5. Choose your account creation or sign-in method:
    • Receive Temporary Access Link: You will receive an email with a link to verify you and sign in.
    • Enter Password Manually: If you have a McGraw Hill Account, enter that password. If you are creating an account, set your password. The first time you sign in with a password, you will receive an email to verify you and sign in.
  6. Acknowledge the terms and conditions.
  7. You will receive an email to verify your account; click on the link in the email. You’ll be signed in.
  8. You now have access to First Aid Forward - Step 1! 

Register for First Aid Forward - Step 2

  1. If you already registered for Step 1, first sign out of First Aid Forward completely.
  2. Go to this exact link: https://firstaid.mheducation.com/step-two.
  3. Enter your  @health.fau.edu email. You must use this email address as it connects you to FAU’s subscription.
  4. Enter your information--the site will skip this step if you already have a McGraw Hill Account with the same email address. A McGraw Hill Account includes Boards & Beyond, AccessMedicine, and more.
  5. Choose your account creation or sign-in method:

Need to re-verify your institutional access?

If you are getting an error message that your study materials have "expired," it's time to re-verify your institutional access. Follow the steps below to re-verify:

  1. After 180 days, reverify your access to Step 1 by signing out of First Aid Forward completely and re-signing in from https://firstaid.mheducation.com/step-one. You will receive an email to verify your account. Click on the link in the email; you will be signed in and your account will be verified for another 180 days.
  2. After 180 days, reverify your access to Step 2 by signing out of First Aid Forward completely and re-signing in from https://firstaid.mheducation.com/step-two. You will receive an email to verify your account. Click on the link in the email; you will be signed in and your account will be verified for another 180 days.
  3. That’s it! You are set for both Step 1 and Step 2 for another 180 days.
